Jim and Barbara Fleming are developing the 39 West Broad Building to be a vibrant part of the Cookeville community. They are filling the building with shops and businesses that are innovative, creative, positive contributors to the community. The 39 West Broad Building is upscale, full of energy, fun and family oriented. They are proud to support the community, whether by hosting art shows or parties for non-profits such as the ART Prowl or by helping every business on the West Side network effectively. The Flemings' are steadfast contributors to the development and success of the tenant businesses. Something that Barbara often says, "A year from now, if two people are talking about something on the West Side and the comment is That sounds like fun, where is that going on? I would love for the answer to be Oh, that must be at 39 West Broad."
The Flemings moved to Cookeville two years ago (his job as a science administrator was transferred to Cookeville and Barbara decided it was a good time to retire after many years of being a physician in active practice and an administrator). They love the history, the culture, the art, the food that is so abundant on the West Side and buying the building at 39 West Broad and rehabbing it seemed a worthwhile contribution and a way to be involved in community.
